Heat 2

I haven't read the sequel to Heat but why is Heat 2 a prequel? I mean that's fine and all but a prequel means it happens before the story so Heat should actually be called Heat 2 and Heat 2 should be called Heat. Or Heat 2 should be called Heat .5 of Heat 1/2. Either of those should work for me. Hello Michael Mann!?
